NYATA Chalk it up for Children’s Mental Health

The first NYATA Chalk It Up for Children’s Mental Health Day was held on Sunday, August 28th in Long Beach, Long Island and was a great success! Many businesses donated raffle items and the community was generous in their support. A special thank you to all the NYATA Board family members and art therapy interns who volunteered to help! (The inside scoop is that the event will be covered in an upcoming edition of AATA’s Art Therapy Today newsletter!) Between the money raised at that event, the May fundraiser and the art canvas sale at the AATA conference, NYATA raised almost $3700.00 that will be used to support community art therapy programs for children in Long Beach and the surrounding area.

The Board is fine-tuning the process by which money will be allocated for programs and the way in which NYATA LCAT members will be able to participate.

STAY TUNED for details…
