    The House, Tree, Person Drawing is a well-known tool in the field of art therapy. Its elements can also be utilized in analyzing spontaneously created and prompted imagery to reveal numinous parts of the self and one’s experience.

Protest with Art

Spring 2018

NYATA board members and one Mary Mount student intern volunteered with K.I.N.D. to offer supportive, stress-reducing therapeutic art-making activities. K.I.N.D.provides legal assistance clinics for children/Young adults facing deportation. See NYATA and the team of pro bono lawyers and social service workers who made it all possible. We had a great time offering several fun art activities while children and their families waited to be seen at the clinic.

October 18, 2020

NYATA board members hosted a social action event in Washington Square park to exhibit art as a peaceful and expressive form of protest.
